HATCH REST SOUND MACHINE ANDROID
This smart device uses Bluetooth connectivity and is compatible with both Android (KitKat or higher) and iOS (9 or higher). The only rationale we can come up with is that the manufacturer doesn’t want the buttons to “destroy” the aesthetics of the device. We felt a bit inconvenienced with the position of the controls. The positioning of the buttons on the bottom of the device caught us off guard. There is also a button that allows you to flip back through programs, as well as buttons that let you adjust the brightness and volume. You can also find a play/pause button that you can use if you want to silence the device without completely powering it off. The Forward button lets you cycle through the preset sound/light combinations. There is a power button that you can use the same way as the touch ring. The rest of the controls are at the bottom of the device. The device looks great enough on its own but you can still purchase coverlets that will allow you to match the design of the device to the overall theme of your child’s room.

Touching this ring powers on the device while additional short touches will allow you to cycle through the six stored light and sound combinations. There is a touch-sensitive chrome-colored ring around the speaker. We find it easy to carry during those times that we need to spend away from home. A Welcome Addition to Your Nurseryįor a device that has several functions built in, the Hatch Baby Rest is small and quite light. You can even coordinate styles with your child’s room by purchasing matching coverlets in fun patterns and colors. With the help of this device, you can customize the hues, brightness, and soothing sounds in your nursery. This device is easy to customize, program and control from a smartphone so you can stay in bed and still ensure that your sleeping baby enjoys a restful sleep. It uses the same principles as that of the Soundspa Lullaby that also has adjustable volume, plays lullabies and emits lights. It is also proven effective in stimulating melatonin production with white noise to help a baby or a toddler fall asleep. This device uses scientifically proven light colors that promote healthy circadian rhythms so your kids can enjoy a good night’s rest. Hatch Baby’s Rest Night Light is a multi-functional device that acts both as a night light and as a sound machine. Although lullaby sounds are helpful, they may not be enough to keep babies asleep for more than a few minutes at a time. Some devices emit the sound of ocean waves or play lullabies to calm down babies and usher them to sleep. There are now numerous options parents can choose from if what they want are devices that can help babies get a good night’s rest. Hatch says the content is designed to grow with your child, with options intended for babies as well as younger children.Babies need a quiet place for them to stay asleep. Later this year Hatch plans to add a subscription service as well which will add sleep stories and music for your child, which so far is exclusive to the Mini. And you can still control it from your phone and program a custom timer, too. It is now the cheapest device in Hatch’s lineup though, at $40, making it a good option for those with tight budgets. However, it only provides sound so if you want a night light you’re better off with one of the other Hatch devices. Like the other Rest devices, the Mini can play a combination of white noise tunes from rain and wind to a dryer or a steady heartbeat (the latter is new to the Mini). Subtle and white, it’s more squat than the Rest but also has a speaker on top with physical buttons to play, stop, skip and adjust volume. The Mini, which looks a little like someone cut off the bottom of a Rest+, includes many of the same characteristics of its siblings. This year, they’ve announced another smart sound machine, the Rest Mini.

Last year at CES, Hatch announced the Restore, a smart sleep light intended for adults that replicates the popular design and features of its baby line-up the Rest and Rest+.
